Nomen Ipsa is an action RPG where you fight bosses, earn renown, and climb the leaderboards alongside other players.
After creating an account and logging in, you can create up to three characters, each with a different vocation. Choose a server region and jump straight into the action.
Each account supports up to three characters. Characters are tied to a specific server region and cannot be transferred.
Your character accumulates renown over time. This is the primary measure of your progress and is displayed on the leaderboards.
| Stat | Description |
|---|---|
| Level | Increases as your character progresses. |
| Renown | Lifetime prestige. Never decreases. |
| Gold | Currency. Spent in the shop and on upgrades. |
| Bounty | Points earned by completing daily and weekly bounties. |
When creating a character, you choose a vocation that determines your playstyle. Vocations cannot be changed after creation.
| Vocation | Role | Playstyle |
|---|---|---|
| Warrior | Tank / Melee | High durability, fights up close. Excels at holding boss attention. |
| Ranger | Ranged DPS | Attacks from a distance. Fragile but deals consistent damage. |
| Mage | Burst DPS | Powerful spells with cooldowns. High risk, high reward. |
| Cleric | Support | Heals allies and buffs the party. Scales well in larger groups. |
Combat in Nomen Ipsa is real-time. You move your character, aim skills, and react to boss telegraphs. Every fight has a timer which affects your final score.
Each boss encounter can be started on Easy, Normal or Hard difficulty. Higher difficulty multiplies the score you earn but also increases boss health and damage.
Bosses are the core of Nomen Ipsa. Each boss has a set of phase-based attacks and a unique arena.
Defeating a boss earns you a Boss Battle score based on your total time, difficulty, and party size. Solo kills at Hard difficulty rank highest.
Most bosses have two or three phases triggered at health thresholds (e.g. 70% and 30%). Phase transitions are accompanied by a brief invulnerability window, so use it to reposition.
Affixes are optional modifiers layered on top of a boss encounter, independent of its difficulty. They twist the rules of a fight: sweetening the rewards, packing the arena, or toughening the boss.
Affixes appear on streak runs. Every streak encounter rolls at least one affix; there is a chance for a second, and (only if the second landed) a chance for a third. Affixes are always distinct, so no fight repeats the same one twice.
| Affix | Effect |
|---|---|
| Healthy | The boss starts with 50% more health. A pure stat boost: it doesn't change how the boss fights. |
| Opulent | Greases the fight with gold: ordinary (non-summoned) mobs drop gold every time instead of by chance, and every hit on the boss has a small chance to spill an extra gold drop for the attacker. |
| Generous | Victory drops a second boss-loot chest, identical to the first: double the reward for the same kill. |
| Crowded | Swells the pre-boss waves with extra mobs, making the run in to the boss crowded and intense. |
| Haunted | Guarantees a Spectre joins the boss fight, adding an extra threat you'll have to handle alongside the boss. |
| Hastened | Every character in the party moves 15% faster for the whole encounter, making dodges and repositioning far more forgiving. |
| Mending | Every few seconds the boss channels a short heal, knitting back a slice of its maximum health without ever breaking off its attack. Watch the cast bar: a fight you were winning can slip away if the heals keep landing. |
You can fight bosses solo or in a party of up to four. Leaderboard scores are tracked separately per party size, so a duo kill only competes against other duo kills.
There are no forced roles: you can bring four warriors if you want. However, mixed parties tend to clear faster and earn higher scores.
Score credit is shared equally among all party members who were alive at the kill. A member who disconnected before the kill receives no credit.
Bounties are optional objectives that reset on a daily or weekly schedule. Completing them awards Bounty Points, which feed into a separate leaderboard.
Regional leaderboards update after scored events. Select Global to browse standings across all regions. Regional scores are forwarded to the global leaderboard, so global standings may lag while updates are being delivered. You can filter by server, category, boss, and party size.
| Category | What it measures |
